What’s your take on QR Code menus? Personally, I like the fact that I don’t have to wait for a server every time I want to place an order.
But the internet seems to hate them—just look at these Reddit posts.

Well, the short answer is … it depends.
Who are you serving and what did you replace your paper menu with? Let me explain.
For example, if your target customers are young people, they probably won’t mind scanning a QR Code and reading a PDF menu. But old people may find it hard. Some of them might not even have a smartphone.
The second but most important thing is, what did you replace your paper menu with? Is it just a PDF copy of your menu? Then your menu deserved to get hate. I mean, what’s the point of this transformation? You are asking your customers zoom in to read menu items, chose an item and then wait again for the server to take the order?
But if you’ve replaced it with a digital ordering system where a user scans the QR Code, selects an item in a digital menu/app, places the order on the platform itself, can check their bill total, etc, then I think people are gonna like your QR Code menu.
Yeah, it seems Reddit is divided
